Products & menus
Products and modifiers
Create products of every kind — items, gift cards, tickets, sessions, passes, memberships — with photos, modifiers, and options.
Everything you sell is a product. Open Products in the admin sidebar (with the right location selected) and choose New product.
Product types
Anywhere POS supports six product types. Which ones you can create is controlled company-wide under Settings → Organisation, with an optional per-location override under Settings → Location details.
| Type | What it sells |
|---|---|
| Standard | A regular menu or retail item |
| Gift card | A gift card — the paid amount becomes the card balance |
| Ticket | Capacity-limited entry for a specific date or time slot |
| Session | A timed booking of a resource, like a lane, court or room |
| Multi-day | A booking or pass spanning one or more days |
| Membership | A membership billed automatically every week or month |
The product form shows only the sections each type uses. For the booking types see the bookings overview and passes; for memberships see Memberships; for gift cards see Gift cards.
The basics
- Name and description — what customers see on kiosks, QR menus, and receipts.
- Price — entered in your currency. Gift cards can instead be open price, where the buyer chooses the amount (within a minimum and maximum you set).
- Category — where the item sits on your menus; manage categories under Products → Categories & tags.
- Photo — add a product image; you can upload one or pick from your media library. Menus look dramatically better with photos, especially on kiosks.
- Optional extras like calories, prep time, and an alcohol flag, where relevant to your industry.
Modifier lists (sizes, extras, choices)
Modifiers let customers customise an item — milk choice, toppings, cooking preference. They're built as reusable modifier lists:
- Go to Products → Modifier lists and choose New list.
- Name it (e.g. "Milk choice") and add the options, each with an optional extra price.
- Set the rules:
- Required — the customer must choose before adding the item.
- Minimum / maximum selections — e.g. "pick exactly 1" for sizes, or "up to 3" for toppings.
- Attach the list to any products that use it.
Because lists are shared, updating "Toppings" once updates every product that uses it. On the POS, kiosk, and QR apps, the modifier screen appears automatically when an item with modifiers is tapped.
Options
Ticket, Session, Multi-day and Membership products are built from options — what customers actually buy (Adult / Child tickets, Dorm bed / Private room, membership tiers). On these products the edit page puts the options front and centre: the product holds the name, description, image, category and tags, while every option underneath carries its own price, image, description, sale window, modifiers, tags and (for bookables) which of the product's resources it uses. Fill out one option, then Add option or Duplicate to build the next — everything saves together when you save the product.
Options or modifiers? Use options when the price difference is the product (Adult vs Child, room types); use modifiers for add-ons and choices on top of it (shoe hire, milk choice).
Availability at a glance
Each product has an availability switch. From the Products list, the row menu offers 86 (mark unavailable) when you sell out and Mark available when it's back. For schedules, time windows, and how unavailable items appear to customers, see Menus & availability.
Got a long menu to enter? Don't type it all — see Importing products.
