Settings & users
Company settings
Organisation details, hours, receipts, account security, and privacy controls in one place.
Organisation details
Go to Settings → Organisation to set the basics every other feature builds on:
- Profile — your company name, contact email and phone, and ABN (shown on receipts and tax reports).
- Industry — Quick service / cafe, Restaurant, Bar / pub, or Other. This sets sensible POS defaults: restaurants get table-service tabs, bars default tabs to a card pre-authorisation hold, quick service keeps things counter-only. You can fine-tune everything afterwards.
- Regional defaults — your Timezone (drives business dates and reports), Currency, and Default GST / tax rate.
- Product types — switch on the kinds of products you sell beyond standard items: gift cards, tickets, sessions, multi-day bookings, and memberships.
Set the timezone correctly before you start trading — it determines which calendar day each sale belongs to in your reports.
Hours
Opening hours are set per location under that location's settings (Hours in the location settings menu). Your ordering apps can follow these automatically — outside hours they show customers when you reopen. Each app can also override hours individually; see Building apps.
Other per-location settings live alongside Hours: Location details, Devices, Checkout behaviour, and KDS health. See Locations.
Receipts and templates
Customise what your receipts and customer emails say and look like under Settings → Branding, on the Templates tab. Your logo and colors from the same page flow through automatically, and an AI assistant can help draft the wording. See Branding and themes.
Account security (MFA)
Each person manages their own security under Settings → My account:
- Profile — update your name, email, and phone.
- Password — change it any time (minimum 8 characters).
- POS PIN — the 4–8 digit code you use on shared tills.
- Two-factor authentication — strongly recommended for owners, admins, and managers:
- Open the two-factor section and start enrolment.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, etc.).
- Enter the 6-digit code to confirm.
- Save the backup codes somewhere safe — they're your way in if you lose your phone. You can regenerate them later, which invalidates the old set.
If a teammate is locked out of two-factor entirely, an owner or admin can reset it from Users & roles.
Privacy and data retention
Settings → Privacy (owners and admins) covers your data obligations:
- Data retention — customer data attached to orders is automatically anonymised after your retention period, shown in years on this page.
- Export customer data — look a customer up by email or phone and download everything you hold about them, ready to hand over for an access request.
- Delete a customer — removes the customer and anonymises their past orders (sales totals stay intact for your accounting). This requires a typed confirmation because it can't be undone.
- Company export — download a complete export of your company's data as a file.
The audit log
Settings → Audit log (owner/admin only) records security-relevant changes — who changed settings, created API keys, modified users, and when. Each location also has its own audit log for order-level events under the location's settings.
